We acknowledge Parbin-ata Mother Earth. We acknowledge and the ancestors of the Wadawurrung people whose traditional lands Deśa is based and honour and respect their living connection to Country through Elders past, present and emerging. We acknowledge our Indigenous ancestors who nurtured and cared for Wadawurrung Country for tens of thousands of years and in return the Country cared for them with healthy nourished land and water providing a sustainable life. We acknowledge the hardships and the harm that they suffered following colonisation and the devastating impacts of that, which are still evident and felt today. The way that the Wadawurrung People and culture have survived and thrived demonstrates enormous strength, resilience and adaptability.
