From Emma’s perspective, reconnection with nature is the catalyst for a reconnection with self. By acknowledging our place within nature, rather than imposing our presence upon it, a significant power to solve multiple contemporary issues – mental health, obesity, addiction, environment – is unleashed.
She is dedicated to the connection of body and mind through her lived experience as an athlete, yoga teacher and overcoming trauma, alongside her formal training in coaching, counselling and trauma therapy. She is particularly passionate about providing teens and adults with the tools for emotional regulation and individual agency and has experienced working in the healing space with with both groups and individuals.
Her current work extends to motivational speaking for small and large corporate and school groups, as well as one-on-one sessions to assist people regain their self-confidence and agency post-trauma. At Deśa Retreat, she has developed individual and group classes in guided meditation, Hatha Vinyasa, Kundalini, Yin and Nada styles of yoga, alongside immersive sound and yoga experiences.
She considers herself as a tour guide, gently guiding people back to their internal landscapes within. With these tools for transformation, utilising yoga, nature, sound and meditation, she believes everyone is empowered to effect real and lasting change that extends beyond themselves to family, friends, the wider community and the environment.
