Meet the Facilitator

Our meditation community is called the Great Ocean Path Sangha and the facilitation is done by various people in the community. The essence of our Sangha is awareness, understanding, acceptance, harmony and love. Everyone is welcome to attend regardless of your experience.

Getting Here

We are located at Desa Retreat Studio – 12 Ocean Boulevard, Jan Juc, Victoria 3228.

Parking within the property via Ocean Boulevard or Broadbeach Road gate. If parking outside, we kindly ask you to choose the nature-strip and avoid parking on the street for safety reasons.

What to Bring

For a comfortable and enriching experience, we recommend bringing:

  1. Comfortable Clothing: Wear loose, breathable clothing that allows ease of movement for meditation and mindful activities.
  2. Cushion or Mat: We do have cushions and yoga mats available for use, but feel free to bring your own if desired.
  3. Water Bottle: Stay hydrated throughout the session to nourish your body and mind.
  4. Notebook and Pen: If you like to jot down insights or reflections, a notebook and pen can be handy.
  5. An Open Heart: Most importantly, bring an open heart and a willingness to explore mindfulness and inner peace.

1. Is prior meditation experience necessary to join?

No prior meditation experience is required. Our sessions are open to all, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced practitioner.

2. What should I bring?

We recommend wearing comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows for ease of movement and sitting. Layers are also a good idea, as the temperature can vary.

3. Do I need to bring my own meditation cushion or mat?

While we do have cushions and mats available, you’re welcome to bring your own if you have them for added comfort.

4. Is there a fee to attend the meditation sessions?

No. Meditations with James are completely free.

5. Are children allowed to attend the meditation sessions?

Children are welcome to join if they can participate mindfully and quietly. We ask that parents or guardians supervise them throughout the session.

6. Can I arrive late or leave early from the session?

We encourage arriving on time to fully benefit from the practice, but if you need to arrive late or leave early, please do so mindfully and quietly to minimize disruption to others.
